2009 and the PC
We are taking a look at some of the exclusives that each console is bringing to the table this year. The PC has been overshadowed by consoles the last few years, but the PC has a good chance of coming out of that shadow this year with a strong line up of games.
Starcraft 2
One of two major releases from Blizzard this year, Starcraft 2 is looking to push the RTS envelope even more. With refined gameplay and great looking graphics it’s looking like Starcraft 2 will do just that. Gamers can expect to see Starcraft 2 when it hits storeshelves later this year.
Diablo 3
The second major release from Blizzard is Diablo 3. We have been waiting a long time for another Diablo to come out, and our wait is almost over. Diablo 3 will support both cooperative and competitive multiplayer. Blizzard is shaping up to be a powerhouse for 2009.
Empire: Total War
Creative Assembly is back with another installment to their critically-acclaimed Total War series. Empire: Total War takes place during the Age of Enlightenment in the 18th century. Creative Assembly has brought for the first time in a Total War game, 3D Naval combat. You will be able to control individual ships as you fight for control of the high seas. Empire: Total War will be released on March 4.
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor will be a stand alone sequel to Relic Entertainment’s award-winning Company of Heroes. In Tales of Valor, gamers will get to experience three new campaigns based on historic events from WWII. Their will also be three new multiplayer modes and a number of new maps. Hopefully gamers will be able to get their hands on Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor at some point later this year.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2
Another game being developed by Relic Entertainment, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 is showing a lot of promise. Dawn of War 2 will have cooperative campaigns and competitve multiplayer modes. Gamers can already get a taste of what the full game will offer with recently released public beta. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 will be released later this year.
Demigod
Developed by Gas Powered Games, Demigod is an RTS with extensive role-playing elements. Choose from one of many demigods each with their own unique abilities and powers. Gamers can expect a massive single player and up to 10 player multiplayer. Demigod will release sometime this spring.
