Wolfenstein 3D Comes to iPhone, Hints of XBLA and PSN Release
Wolfenstein 3D is now availbale for the iPhone and iTouch platforms for $4.99. For those of you who have never played Wolfenstein 3D, you play as B.J. Blazkowicz as he attempts to escape from Castle Wolfenstein. The iPhone version features all 6 original episodes, adds touch and tilt based controls, and a top down map showing you where you have been in each level. John Carmack, Co-Founder and technical director of id Software, led the project personally and has hinted that Wolfenstein 3D won’t be the only classic title making an appearance on the iPhone.
There are also hints at a release for the XBLA and PSN. The ESRB has given Wolfenstein 3D a “Mature” rating for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. This seems to hint at a Wolfenstein 3D release in the near future for both consoles.
