Golden Games for Jan. 27
Whenever a game goes gold, especially high profile games, gamers take notice. These games are officially done and will be on store shelves within a few short weeks. Last week, two games that a lot of people have been waiting to get their hands on achieved gold status; Killzone 2 and Halo Wars.

Killzone 2 was first shown at E3 in 2005 and since then has been on everyone’s radar and fueled a lot of speculation about its graphics. Well now it’s about to be here and the graphics look pretty damn close to their target render they showed years ago. Owners of the PS3 will finally be able to have what could potentially be a AAA exclusive. Gamers who preorder from Gamestop will be able to get a taste of what the full game will offer on Feb. 5 when a demo will be released. The full game will release on Feb. 27.

Ensemble Studios is trying to do with Halo Wars what a lot of developers have tried but never quite succeeded, creating a RTS on a console. Ensemble Studios is known for their Age of Empire series on PC so they definitely know how to make an RTS. With the Halo name behind it, Ensemble Studios has a chance to make something great with Halo Wars. Gamers will be able to decide for themselves when a demo hits Xbox LIVE on Feb. 5 and the full game on Feb. 27. The demo will consist of two single player missions and one skirmish map to play as either UNSC or The Covenant.
