Atari’s 2009 Line-up
With Phil Harrison at the helm of Atari, the company is looking to emerge from it’s slump and emerge as a potential publishing powerhouse. Atari is eyeing 2009 as a possible banner year with a slate of possible hits ranging from Chronicles of Riddick to Ghostbusters. We take a quick look at Atari’s 2009 lineup after the break.
Heroes Over Europe
Heroes Over Europe will take you back to WWII fighting in multiple locales in over 40 different aircraft. It will come with 16 player multiplayer across multiple game modes. Take to the skies on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in the spring of 09.
Race Pro
Developed by SimBin, known for their racing titles on PC, this Xbox 360 exclusive will try to impress with its simulation experience. You will be racing on 13 real life tracks stretching from Macau to Road America. Expect Race Pro sometime in late January.
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Probably one of the most anticipated release of 09 for Atari, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is setting itself up to be better than the original. Included is the stand alone game plus a remastered version of the original Escape from Butcher Bay. Along with multiplayer, this could end up being one of the best “bang for your buck” games next year.
The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf
Another promising title for Atari is The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. Originally released on the PC, this console version will feature streamlined controls to accommodate the consoles, improved graphics, and an improved combat system. The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf will be released sometime in the fall of 09.
Ghostbusters: The Videogame
Ghostbusters takes place 2 years after the second film and is written by Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd. Join your favorite team of paranormal experts as you fight through New York City in a third person adventure. Ghostbusters: The Videogame is shooting for a June release to coincide with Ghostbusters’ 25th anniversary.
